Like many aspects of flooring the answer depends on your needs and lifestyle.
The vinyl floor that is best for you might not be best for somebody else. Many variables such as cost, wear layer, warranty, backing, thickness and of course the design that you choose will affect which vinyl floor is best for you.
In terms of having the best longevity, this can be measured by the thickness of the wear layer and the associated wear warranty. The thicker the wear layer, the longer the product will perform at its optimum. We always state the thickness of the wear layer on our products so you know exactly what you are buying.
The best comfort underfoot will generally come from the thickest vinyl – the thicker the vinyl, the more air has been blown into the product during manufacturing, and therefore, the cosier it is underfoot.
As to cost and design, that will be entirely personal to you. We have a range of vinyls, from budget conscious to luxurious, however, ALL of our vinyl ranges have beautiful decors to choose from.
There are two types of backing used in vinyl flooring. The first is vinyl, the second is a textile backing. Textile backings won’t rip during installation and can hide some sub floor imperfections; however, they can be more expensive than a traditional vinyl backing.
